2004 World Series Reclassifications

"AAA"

Tony Peoples,Tony Hunhoff, Panfillo Valadez from Bombers were all classified AAA.

Reno Lato, Andy Jackson, Mike Smith from Riversharks were all classified AAA.

These 6 pitchers set the line for AAA and that anyone better than them should be Open.

No teams were reclassified from the AAA event to Open. Neither the Bombers or the Riversharks returned to defend their title in 2005.

"AA"

Wilber Lime Team was reclassified to AAA but not there pitchers.

No AA pitchers were reclassified to AAA.

They did not play well in 2005 and did not even return to defend their AA title after NAFA approved their appeal to come back down from AAA to AA.

The top pitchers in AA were Steve Gothard, Darren Strang, Rod Bunge, and Jeremy Holman

These four set the bar for what NAFA AA Pitchers should not be better than.

The champion of A-Major, Boise Clippers were reclassified to AA(and then took 5th in 2005 with two players making 1st team all world). Boise Clippers pitchers Rod Clark and Rod Pancheri was reclassified to AA not on velocity but on control.

"A-Major"

We dropped Rudd Trophy(took 4th in 2005 going 4-2), PA Power/Aqua Spec(went 0-3 in 2005 but the next week won the ASA C National), and Communiquest(went 2-2 in 2005 taking 17th) to A-Major from AA based on their lack of competitiveness in AA.

The Pitchers in A-Major were all hittable with no one with too much velocity and no one with super low era's. John Clark and and Rod Pancheri took their team's new AA class with them as pitchers but no other pitcher from the All world team was reclassified and the line was drawn for A-Major at below Lou Heller from Odin, Dennis Delaney, Abies, Greg Bacher and Ron Chambers from Fisherville A's, Larry Cushman, Rice Lake, Shane Alder, Boise Brewers, and Jamie Thompson of Ricola.

There were many teams(the top 10) reclassified from the A Tourney to A-Major for 2005 as many teams and directors still didn't understand the difference between A and A-Major so the top 3rd of A looked very similar to the A-Major and teams were re-classified accordingly.

The Champion Mo-Kan Twins were reclassified to A-Major with their pitcher Jason Eaton, but combined with Wichita Athletic Club in 2005 and played AA going 0-3, Berkanpas Construction, Michigan was reclassified with their pitcher, Bill Freelman to A-Major and went 2-2 in the 2005 A-Major taking 13th, Piper Lake Club, KC and their pitcher Jason Pennington were reclassed to A-Major and went 0-3 in 2005, KC Indios were reclassed to A-Major on fine hitting and so was their pitcher Vic Garcia but went just 2-2 in 2005, Graff Pepsi, 5th Place, Missouri and their pitcher John Watkins were reclassified to A-Major and then in 2005 won 3rd in the A-Major after looking like the favorite until the semi's. Blues Softball Club, Michigan and their pitcher Ryan Nichols were reclassified to A-Major and went 2-3 taking 13th in 2005.Herrin Bud from Illinois and their pitchers Les Wood and Troy Downen were reclassified to A-Major. Many people felt Les Wood was the best pitcher in the tourney both velocity and control wise ( they took 7th in the 2005 A-Major going 5-2). Anderson Lawman(took 9th in 2005 A-Major), KC Gamblers(1-2 in 2005) and Cary's Trucking(0-3 in 2005) were all reclassified to A-Major. The Pitching in the A was too dominant with clearly A-Major or AA caliber guys throwing like Jason Eaton, Bill Streelman, Les Wood, Scott Kelly, Troy Downen, John Watkins, Ryan Nichols, Brian Munkel and others where the batters never had a chance.
