Every three
years NAFA reevaluates it's classification system. 2006 marked the
third year in the cycle.
In an
attempt to make the process of reclassifying teams and pitchers easier
NAFA has now created Class AA-Major so as almost any team that is
reclassified in 2007 will be playing teams that they are competitive
with immediately.
We moved
approximately 18 teams and 25 pitchers from AA to AA-Major, we moved 13
teams and 20 pitchers from A-Major to AA and we moved 15 teams and 30
pitchers from A to A-Major.
In some instances,
pitchers but not their teams were reclassified. Almost all of
these pitchers play for loyal teams that will follow them to their new
division of play at the NAFA World Series. Although their entire
team did not get reclassified, most of their teams have declared they
will be at their new level at the 2007 NAFA World Series.
