Roster and Classification for 2008

Roster and Classification Guidelines for 2008

Roster

The process starts with a roster filed with the Fastpitch Director in your State or Province, which becomes the basis of classification.  NOTE:  It is requested the blank roster form be downloaded from the NAFA Website with all information typed onto said roster.  The signatures of the Manager and the Players shall be handwritten.

Prior to playing in a NAFA event, in the current season, a 2008 NAFA Roster must be filled with your Director.  This roster is a waiver to protect NAFA, its officials and team managers from lawsuits.

  1-Director will verify that the roster is filled out properly and sent to the National Office

  2-NAFA registration fee of $35 shall be attached

  3-Early-Season Rosters can be sent as early as June 15.  The revised World Series roster is due July 24th of any

   current year, to include player removals/additions and pick-up players and final roster additions that are due on

   August 1.

  4-If team (or variation of team) is competing in two separate classifications, separate rosters must be submitted

   for each.

Classification

1-Factors which will affect classification will include, but are not limited to:

   -Your roster for the current season;

   -The pitching staff you have;

   -How your team compared to other teams in Invitational Tournaments, Travel Leagues and the previous World

    Series Tournaments, in addition to how you finished in other affiliation's Championship play.

2-Any team or player may appeal their classification in writing to:  NAFA Classification Committee Chairman,

    Nafafastpitch@gmail.com.

3-Classification will continue up to the Opening Game (and during the event if needed) of the World Series.  The

    NAFA Executive Director or Vice President may reclassify a team based on roster submission regardless of

    State Director's initial team or pitcher classifications.  Final determination will be by the International

    Classification Committee.  Teams that are reclassified up one level during the event my play in the higher

    classification, provided an opening is available.  If space is not available, the illegal player(s) that resulted in

    reclassification will be removed from the World Series.

4-Region (What is a region?)"

   Note for 2008 There are no geographic Restrictions on any level of NAFA team. This will be evaluated at the 2008 World Series for 2009 Changes.

   A region is any state or province, plus any state or province adjacent to your state or province.  Your state or province is determined by the home mailing address of the team contact and/or manager.
